Why did the 'Great War' happen?
Anybody and everybody who has studied World War I will tell you that the main causes of 'the Great War' were militarism, industrialization, the alliance system, imperialism, and nationalism. Let's try and dig a little deeper and see if all 5 of these causes share a commonality. Let's see how all 5 causes came together to create an unstable Europe during 1914.

- How many major religions were practiced in the country?
- Did the country have any interests outside of Europe?
- What kind of relationship did the country have with it's neighboring countries?
