Understanding the Renaissance
To better understand the Renaissance and it's significance we need to investigate 'inquiry questions', questions that will satisfy our curiosity and deepen our understanding of the subject. Inquiry questions give shape and scope to a unit of study and help us explore a topic by asking additional questions.
Factual Questions:
- What conditions inspired intellectual change and religious conflict during the Renaissance and Reformation?
- What are the roles of wealth, competition, pride, open-mindedness, necessity, and curiosity in fostering creativity?
- What social and political changes sparked religious conflict in Europe?
- How did the political, intellectual, and social climate of the Renaissance inspire new ideas and creativity?
- How do inventions change the world?
- How can one person change society?
- How does access to information/knowledge affect society?
- How is the modern information revolution similar/different to that of the 15th century?
