Task Description:
Remember, the project is an investigation of the unit's statement of inquiry:
'Adverse social and political conditions inspire change in intellectual thought which results in conflict.'
Find a work(s) of visual art that were used to conceal messages of social and/or political change. Investigate the events, causes, and reasons behind the creation of the art pieces. What is the need for social and/or political change? Analyze the symbolism and use of metaphors in the works of art to explain how and why the art ‘speaks’ to the audience. How and why is there a ‘hidden’ message in the work of art? Why could the artist not communicate their opinions and commentary of society and/or politics openly?
Step 1:
Create a Thinglink poster. You will create a thinglink poster of your chosen works of art to tag the poster with your commentary and observations. Your tags will include the following information:

Create a Padlet wall. You will share your tagged thinglink poster on a Padlet Wall with your classmates.

- Subject Matter
- Analysis of the symbolism(s) found in the painting

- Background information on the cause for the social/political activism
- What affect did the painting have on the adverse social/political/cultural movement?
- What is the need for social and/or political change?
- Explain how and why the art ‘speaks’ to the audience
- How and why is there a ‘hidden’ message in the work of art?
- Why could the artist not communicate their opinions and commentary of society and/or politics openly?
